Commonwealth Search and Rescue. (CSAR)

 

CSAR is a non-profit volunteer search and rescue group dedicated to providing assistance to lost or injured persons in the out-of-doors. 

 

 

 

When called upon, they provide communication and trained ground searchers as the situation requires. If a search and rescue emergency arises, CSAR's services are available, free of charge, 24 hours a day through your local law enforcement
agency or the Virginia Department of Emergency Operations Center

Search and rescue assignments are received through the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (DEM) or directly from local police and fire agencies.

 
 

CSAR is a state resource and member organization of the Virginia Search and Rescue Council, an advisory group to the Department of Emergency Management.
